Classification of Awards

Youth, Peace & Security Award – Individual Category Awarded to young trailblazers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, courage, consistency, creativity, resilience and impact in the peace & security field.
Youth, Peace & Security Award –Institutional Category Awarded to youth founded, youth led, and youth focussed organisations that have demonstrated exceptional commitment, courage, creativity, and impact in advancing youth participation and leadership in peacebuilding processes at the grassroots, national, regional, and international levels.

Children, Peace & Security Award –Institutional Category

Awarded to children focussed civil society organisations or government institutions that have demonstrated exceptional commitment, creativity, courage and impact in safeguarding children from all forms of abuse and violence, including protection of rights of children in contexts of armed conflict, and children recruited and exploited by terrorist organisations.

Women, Peace & Security Award – Individual Category

Awarded to female trailblazers at the grassroots, national, and international level that have demonstrated exceptional commitment, courage, creativity, and impact in advancement of the Women Peace and Security Agenda.

Women, Peace & Security Award –Institutional Category

Awarded to women founded, women led, and women focussed organisations that have distinguished themselves in their commitment, creativity, and impact toward accelerating women’s participation and leadership in peacebuilding processes at all levels.

Distinguished Award for Service to Victims of Torture

Awarded to individuals and institutions that have demonstrated exceptional courage and commitment towards safeguarding the rights and liberties of torture victims, as well as the rehabilitation of victims and their families.

Distinguished Award for Service to Victims of Terrorism

Awarded to individuals or institutions that have demonstrated exceptional commitment, creativity, and impact in the rehabilitation of victims of terrorism and their families.

Distinguished Award for Service to Refugees and IDPs– Individual Category

Awarded to individuals that have demonstrated exceptional commitment, dedication, and impact in service to refugees of all age groups and backgrounds, and Internally Displaced persons.

Distinguished Award for Service to Refugees and IDPs– Institutional  Category

Awarded to institutions that have demonstrated exceptional commitment, dedication, and impact in service to refugees of all age groups and backgrounds, and Internally Displaced persons.

Human Rights Medal

Awarded to individuals in the JLOS, Defense sector, and legal fraternity that have demonstrated exceptional commitment, dedication, and courage in the Defense of human rights in line of duty.

Courage Award

Awarded to individuals working in active war zones and war torn areas that have exhibited exceptional courage, heroism, and commitment in the pursuit of peace.

Olive Branch

Awarded to leaders that have demonstrated exceptional skill, commitment, and results in mediation of complex local and international disputes.

Peace & Security Innovators Award

Awarded to individuals that have distinguished themselves with innovations that improve systems and processes in the advancement of peace & security.

Humanitarian Award

Awarded to non-traditional actors outside the peace, security, and humanitarian sectors, whose commitment, contribution and results have directly alleviated human suffering, enhanced human security, and strengthened community resilience.

Lifetime Service Award

The highest honour accorded to an individual for a lifetime of service and distinguished career in the field of peace, security, or humanitarian work.
