Inaugural Peace & Security Awards

Process & Rules

  1. Nomination for the Peace Awards is by invitation only.
  2. The Awards Committee sends nomination forms to field experts and competent persons considered qualified to nominate. These are selected from relevant professional societies & networks locally and nationally, senior academics, Elders & Senior Citizens, Researchers, and Practitioners.
  3. The nomination forms are then screened by a 5 Member Selection Council consisting of National Field Experts who ultimately present a list of final candidates for award. The Selection Council makes the final determination of the candidates entitled to awards recognition.
  4. Candidates eligible for the Peace Awards are those nominated by field experts and qualified persons who receive an invitation from the Awards Committee to submit names for consideration. No candidate may nominate themselves or influence the nomination process in any manner.
  5. It is possible for the Selection Council to find no candidates suitable for award in a particular year.
  6. A nomination may be disqualified without liability if the information shared by the nominee or nominator is proven incorrect or incomplete.
  7. The Awards Committee may disqualify a nominated candidate without liability if it is learnt that such candidate is involved in any activities aimed at influencing the outcome of the Selection Council.
  8. The Awards Committee reserves the right to withdraw a particular category/classification of award if the committee determines that there have been insufficient nominations in such a category.
  9. The Awards Committee & Selection Council commit to take whatever legal measures are deemed necessary to protect the integrity of the Peace Awards.
